PWYP Côte d’Ivoire works to disseminate information contained in EITI reports and to raise awareness among communities of extractive revenues, so people are better equipped to demand accountability over government spending. The coalition has local committees in the country’s main production areas: Jacqueville (oil and gas), Grand Lahon (oil, gas and manganese), Angovia (gold) and Bondoukou (manganese). Launched in 2007, PWYP Côte d’Ivoire also works for extractive contracts to be made public and monitors implementation of the country’s new mining code.
